Piers James is a producer & songwriter, creating sounds inspired by his experiences and journey so far. His way of life and music motive is based on upon his own motto ‘Born. Artistic. To. Achieve' With music as a fundamental part of his background whilst learning to play the piano from a young age, Piers began experimenting with sounds through software’s such as 'Fruity Loops, Cubasis & Reason' as well as linking up with local producers, which was the catalyst of Piers writing lyrics and working on his craft with different sounds.

 

His high school days were consumed with a variety of music from artists such as Wiley, Kano, The Streets, Breakage, Skream, Black Eyed Peas, Common, Gang Starr etc. Piers began developing his knowledge, skills and mature his musical talent. His early passion and desire to make good music pervades in everything he does and over the years his musical taste & production grew and was shaped by artists such as The Neptunes, Timberland, Ryan Leslie, Pete Rock, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, to name a few. This in turn created his own signature authentic 90’s boom-bap style: one that’s quickly becoming his calling card with smooth, dream-like hooks matched with a laid-back, confident delivery makes Piers James’ a bright prospect for the future.

 

Piers was exposed to the UK underground music scene via Deja vu FM, in early 2012 where his music was showcased and by popular demand went on to perform at “We Play Music Live” and a host of other shows which gained him his reputation as an artist with an old school influence but a new school style.

 

Following the release of Piers’ EP ‘Green Screens In-Visible View’ he gained support from various blogs and BBC Radio with Huw Stephens playing ‘80’s Baby‘on his show in 2015. As well as doing shows around London such as Iluvlive, IAmMusic, supporting GhostFace Killah at South Bank Centre, Royal Festival Hall and performing at LIMF festival.

 

As Piers continues to evolve and mature as an artist aims to make his music more personal but make it more relatable for everyone to enjoy Join him on his journey…
